Welcome to the Corkery Community!

The Corkery Community Association (CCA) has been a part of the community since 1990. In addition to our community centre building (which is available for rental), the facilities at the park include several soccer fields, baseball diamond, outdoor ice/in-line skating rink, basketball court and a play structure.  We would like to acknowledge and thank the City of Ottawa for being our partner and for the ongoing contribution to this Community Center.

*Please Note* Access to the rink is weather dependant. If it is too warm, and especially if it is raining, the rink will be closed.

The Corkery Rink is an integral part of our community. The rink is built 100% by VOLUNTEERS. The city of Ottawa gives the association a grant to help buy some equipment and supplies but all of the labour to clean, flood and maintain the rink is done by volunteers.

We ALWAYS NEED VOLUNTEERS to help flood and maintain the rink. This not-so-glamorous but much appreciated job is crucial in maintaining a great ice rink.  With out volunteers, there would be no rink.

Once the rink is built and we have an ice base we require 3 teams of 2 people to flood the rink. Ideally each team floods twice a week. Each flood takes about 2 hours. Major Snow falls are removed with a snow blower so the flood team is generally responsible for only a scrape and a flood.

Floods generally happen around 10:00 at night after the rink is closed but they can also be done early in the morning or if you are interested in volunteering we could most likely work around your schedule.

If you can help once in a while or on a regular basis, please contact the Rink Boss at rink@corkerycommunity.ca.

Thank you to the volunteers who work so tirelessly to maintain our rink!

Pancake Breakfast

Pancake Breakfast

Saturday June 2, 2018

Join the firefighters of Station 84 as they host the finest pancake breakfast in the Corkery area.  With several years of pancake flipping experience, the Station 84 firefighters have fine tuned the process to efficiently serve the crowd which grows every year.  A full breakfast is served including pancakes, bacon, sausages, coffee, tea or juice.  The proceeds from this event are used to buy the fireworks for the Canada Day celebration.

This is a family event with firefighters on hand to answer questions about the trucks, equipment and the life of a firefighter.  Breakfast is served from 7:30am to 11:00am.  This event is scheduled for the same day as the annual Corkery Community Association Plant and Bake sale next door.  Have breakfast and then go shopping!

See you there!
